It finally comes home. Final post?
After years of railing against gerrymandering I finally get to vote on it! The Virginia General Assembly decided to join California (and possibly others) to counter Texas' brash goal to please Trump and keep the House. So.... what do I do? Do I make the point that gerrymandering is bad? Or do we stand up and say when a president ignores the Constitution time and time again that we must do whatever we can to stop them?
Question: Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia's standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?
I am votig YES.
